Shop Girl

There is a slight edge to my smile when someone compliments me on an outfit, especially because over the past two years I’ve developed an entirely thrifted wardrobe.

My roommate and I are cleansing our closets in hopes of sharing the love of unique and vintage finds with you! As well as compressing our wardrobes to fit into suitcases.

Our lives are in these clothes. From hiking and writing poems. From performing and appearing in BuzzFeed videos . . . That’s the cool thing about buying second-hand. The stories. And now you get the opportunity to write the next chapter.

Which is why, with each purchase, we plan to include a handwritten note about some of the fun experiences and places we wore these clothes.

The Depop Shop is heating up! So be such to check it out and snag the items you love.

*All funding is going towards the upcoming summer 2017, “The Naked Heart Tour.” I have been away from blogging for a minute. The past two weeks have been fully devoted to contacting venues, researching fees, and creating promotional materials to make this project a reality! As lead cinematographer, I will not only be supporting two of my college friends, but have the opportunity to film the entire journey which will later be submitted to film festivals. Be sure to check back on the blog for more insight into this tour and the behind the scenes prep.

xoxo,

Window Watcher

dsc_1968I admit I appreciate a good window. Counting the planted pots, viewing the crisp palm tree reflections, swaying my head with the white or blue or floral drapes. Analyzing the stained glass color combinations and the radio tunes coming from within.

As I relax into another vegan restaurant and dig for my journal as the question nests into myself: how safe are the streets of Los Angeles? Continue reading

Merch Girl

I have spent my week stiching together DIY merchandise for my musically gifted friend Enny Owl. From designing to needle work, the process to utilize fashion for support has been such a fun task. It’s crazy to look back on all of the memories that have lead us to Los Angeles together. Creative photoshoots and song sessions flash by alongside open mics and studio recordings. It’s truly insane how life works out. Continue reading

Swimsuit Season

Despite efforts to thwart body image issues, they continue to flurry. As you wander though any checkout line the magazine headlines are still hammering this idea of the “Perfect Beach Body.” They claim ways to slim away those extra pounds and wrap viewers with an unsettling feeling; one of needing to alter oneself to fit society, fit the trend, fit into that bikini. Instead of admiring celebrities and idols for their accomplishments, personality, and compassion, we as a society have placed physical beauty as an attribute to replicate. It’s great to have role models but when the sole reason you look up to someone is because they have luscious lips or thin hips, it’s a step too far. Girls and women whittle away instead of growing in self-love and acceptance. It’s so frustrating! Continue reading
